My Best Muslim Travel Experiences

2021-10-25

I still remember that I was a little scared when I first went to Taiwan. I was worried that it would not be easy to find halal food in Taiwan. Why would I want to come to Taiwan? One day, I went to one of the biggest travel fairs in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia called "matta fair". I am very interested in the Taiwan booth. So I went to see what was there. I saw they try to promote Muslim Friendly tourism such as hotels, halal restaurants, and Muslim tours.

I am surprised Taiwan is trying to promote Muslim-friendly tourism. It makes me more curious about Taiwan and wants to visit there. I asked a lot of information about halal in Taiwan. So, it was easy for me once I went there.

I also booked my flight ticket and hotel with my family. The first time I reached Taiwan, I got friendly and kind service from people there.

I came to Taiwan only with my family. When I arrived in Taiwan, I was surprised. I see the environment there is very clean. It's hard to find garbage on the road.

Taiwan has many interesting places. Such as Ximenting, Shihlin Night Market, Taipei 101, and so on. Taipei 101 is one of my favorite places to shop. Around Taipei 101, there is also Xinyi district which there are many shopping malls. What surprised me the most was that in Taipei 101. There is a prayer room for Muslim tourists. I was also able to perform my prayers there. So, it was very easy for us as Muslims.

Around Xinyi district, there is a halal dessert shop called "Ice Monster". This shop serves various types of shaved ice flavors such as mango shaved ice, bubble milk tea shaved ice, matcha, and more. My favorite is mango shave ice! The fruit is sweet, and the shaved ice is also very smooth and delicious! Most important is they have a halal certificate. So do not hesitate to enjoy dessert there!

Taiwan also has many delicious halal restaurants. From local Taiwanese cuisine, Thai cuisine, Indian cuisine, Middle Eastern cuisine, and so on. The one I like the most is the beef noodles, which is Taiwanese's local cuisine. I used to eat at a halal beef noodle shop around Ximenting. The beef noodles are tasty, the meat is tender, and the broth is delicious. Not only beef noodles, but there are also other foods like dumplings, scallion pancakes, side dishes, and more. Beef noodles are one of the must-try menus when arriving in Taiwan.

Taiwan is also very famous for its street food. One of my favorite local street food is "Fried Chicken Master". Delicious and juicy halal fried chicken. I ordered this food many times while I was in Taiwan. There are also many halal foods that I try in Taiwan. Everything is delicious!

Taiwan also has beautiful and unique attractions! The beautiful places to see beautiful scenery is around Keelung. One of them is Yehliu Geopark. This place is unique because there are many types of rock shapes there. One of the most famous is the queen's head. Other than that, North Coast is also my favorite spot because I am a sea lover. You can see a beautiful bluish sea! Very satisfied and a great place to take pictures.

There is also a prayer room there. It's so good for Muslim travelers when they visit there.

Taiwan is a Muslim -friendly country. not only Muslim-friendly tourist spots, hotels, and restaurants, but Taiwanese are also very Muslim-friendly. During my first time in Taiwan, our van driver was kind and friendly. He looked for the location of a halal restaurant and also a prayer room for us to pray. When we arrived at the prayer room in the Discovery Center Of Taipei, the workers there gave good service. They took us to the prayer room with smiling faces. They are also curious about Muslims and have asked us some questions.

I also went to the Taipei Grand Mosque. Beautiful mosque in Taipei. I went there on Friday. There are a lot of people because people do their Friday prayers. There are lots of people from local Taiwanese Muslim, Indonesian, Malaysian, and more. After the prayer, we can eat and buy Halal foods near the mosque. It's such a good experience!

Taiwan is a beautiful, clean, and friendly country. Before this, I never even thought of going on holiday to Taiwan. But, out of curiosity about Taiwan, I even went on holiday there. The first time I came to Taiwan, I fell in love with Taiwan. I also sent my daughter to study in Taiwan at the Chinese Culture University in Taipei, she can explore many things there. Taiwan is also a safe country so I don't have to worry. I have also traveled to Taiwan many times. If there were no more covid 19 or tourism reopened, the place I would go first would be Taiwan.

I have a lot of respect for Taiwan which raises the name of Taiwan with Taiwan Muslim Friendly. Now, many people also know about Taiwan. Thanks to the Taiwan government for making Taiwan a Muslim-friendly country.
